Think about some of your favorite childhood memories. They probably involve times when you were creating, building, playing, and imagining with your family and friends. Pass those memory making opportunities down to your child with these Kid Cottage Kits. Too many kids today are on their electronics and missing out on the “fun” of being a child. Ignite your child’s passion for play and curiosity with these adorable kid cottages from KidCottageKits.com
These kits are unlike most new toys on the market today because they aren’t flashy or electronic. Rather, they are reminiscent of the toys from the “good ole days” because they foster creativity, promote team work, and develop problem solving skills. You child will feel a sense of pride and accomplishment after finishing the project too. I love these cottages because they represent what play should be and what it used to be before “screen time” and fancy gadgets began eating away at kids’ play time.
What ages are these recommended for?
The kid cottage kits are appealing to kids of all ages, because they can be played with and enjoyed in many different ways. Kids of all ages can also decorate the cottages with paint, markers, or even seasonal holiday decorations.
More specifically, Toddlers and preschoolers can assist with building the cottage and then can use it for imaginary place by turning it into a fort, grocery store, school, office, house or hiding spot. Older children would be able to build the cottage by themselves and then take it down and create new and different formations.
How are they made?
The kid cottage kits are well-built by two master craftsmen in the United States. The cottage pieces are made of thick wood, (not cheap flimsy material) for greater stability to withstand the wear and tear of child’s play.
The wood pieces are also durable enough for both indoor and outdoor use. Having the option of being able to keep the cottages outside is especially helpful when space is tight inside.
The cottages do not come with an instructional manual. This is not an oversight, but rather intentional to encourage creativity and problem solving skills when building. Plus, having directions makes it seem as if there is only one way to build the cottages, when actually, there really is no “wrong way” to build or play with these.
What tools are needed to put these together?
Great news, the cottages don’t require any tools or screws/nails to put together. All of the the wood pieces are cut in such a way that they interlock without the need for tools, screws, or glue of any sort. (The roof even comes with attached Velcro strips for added stability). You can feel safer about letting your child build this independently knowing no tools are required.
What are the sizes?
There are two sets of houses- a 3′ x 3′ size and a 4′ x 4′ size. These houses are big enough for young children (toddlers and preschoolers) to stand and play in. Both sets have the same types of pieces, so all the pieces can be combined to create new projects like benches, beds, tables, and forts. Looking for a more specific size? You can also request that a custom order be made for you to fit the size you need. The possibilities are endless!
The 3’x3′ cottage that contains 77 pieces is $195
The 4’x4′ cottage that contains 90 pieces is $295
Custom orders and pricing are available upon request as well.
